About S.O.A.R.
Having
difficulty figuring out how athletics can help in the college admission
process? You are not alone. Many prospective student athletes and their
parents are looking for answers during this stressful time and wonder
how sports can help.
With over thirty-five
years of coaching experience on both the college and high school level,
along with twenty-six years as a high school athletic director, Pete
Foley has assisted many athletes in navigating the college recruiting
process. With a Masters Degree in Secondary School Counseling and a
resource for the Guidance Department at Weston High School during the
past twenty-five years, Pete’s experience is unmatched.
He has
recently started an independent consulting service to assist student
athletes (Freshmen – Seniors) and their parents as they try to work
through the college admission process and understand how athletics can
help. Common questions are:
What type of grades and test scores do I need?
Am I good enough to participate in college
athletics?
Division
I, II,
or III?
How do I get college coaches to notice me?
How can I market myself to college coaches?
What do coaches look for in recruits?
What do recruiting letters really mean?
What should I plan for on a college visit?
What do I say when a college coach calls?
What questions should I ask the coaches on a college visit?
Can coaches really help with the admission process?
What are the basic college recruiting rules?
Coach Foley will help you answer these questions and develop strategies for making the best decision regarding your options for participating in athletics at the college level.
